School bus caught fire in Jashore

A bus from Dawood Public School and College caught fire in Jashore city. The bus was in running when caught fire. However, there were no casualties. Kotwali Police Station Inspector (Operations) Palash Kumar Biswas said that the incident took place at Bakchar Coldstore Moor on the Jashore-Khulna highway last Tuesday night. On receiving the information, the fire service personnel brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes. But before that, the bus was burned fully.

Bus driver Sahidul Islam said that the bus was repaired in a garage in the Murli area throughout the day. Later in the night, I was running that bus to Monihar from there. I saw fire on the bus on the way. The fire spread in no time. I quickly stopped the bus by the side of the road and got down with my colleague.

DAD of Jashore Fire Service and Civil Defense Sohel Rana said that the fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. Without an investigation, it is not possible to say anything about the source of the fire.

Police Inspector Palash said that it is initially believed that the bus may have caught fire due to a mechanical fault.
