In Narayanganj, Mizan Sikda`s murder case, Mithun was sentenced to death and two other accused, Munna and Chayan, were sentenced to life imprisonment by the court. In addition, the court has ordered to keep the accused for life imprisonment for one more year without paying a fine of one lakh taka.
Narayanganj District and Sessions Judge Court Judge Md. Moshiar Rahman gave this order in the presence of the accused on Monday (September 3).
The convicted accused Mithun is the son of Delwar Hossain of Noada area of Bandar upazila. Manzoor Haque`s son Munna and Bonga`s son Chayan of the same area are convicted for life.
Court Police Inspector Asaduzzaman said that on the evidence of 12 witnesses, the court sentenced the main accused to death and sentenced the other two accused to life imprisonment.
Incidentally, on the night of July 23, 2019, Mithu and his accomplice stabbed Egypt during an argument over an amount of Tk 500 owed at the port of Narayanganj. At that time, people took Egypt to the upazila hospital complex in an alarming condition and the doctor on duty declared him dead. Later, the victim`s brother Sunny Mithun filed a murder case in the Bandar police station.
Later investigation of the case proved the truth of the incident. After considering everything, the court awarded death sentence to the main accused in this case, Mithun and life imprisonment to Munna and Chayan.
