Student’s movement of Shahbagh has spread throughout the country. The entire country was practically isolated from the capital in the Bengali blockade of the students. Apart from this, the internal travel of different regions of the country was also stopped. The wave of Shahbag movement has spread across the country. Passengers suffered due to this.

The anti-quota agitators blocked Shahbagh, Nilkhet, Sciencelab, Paribag, Chankharpul junctions in the pre-announced 'Bangla Blockade' program demanding the cancellation of quota in government jobs and reinstatement of the circular issued in 2018. Students of various educational institutions of Dhaka including Dhaka University, Dhaka College, Eden College, Titumir College participated in the Dhaka blockade in the capital.

Although the program was supposed to be held from 3 pm, the students started gathering at different places in Dhaka from 1 pm. First of all, at 2 o'clock, the anti-quota activists of Dhaka College brought a procession from the college and blocked the Sciencelab intersection. Then at 3 pm, the students of Eden Women's College blocked Nilkhet intersection with a procession from Eden College.

After almost an hour, the women students of Eden Women's College blocked the Nilkhet intersection, around 4 pm some students of Dhaka College came from Sciencelab intersection and joined the women students of Eden Women's College. After some time, anti-quota students of Government Titumir College joined with banners.

On the other hand, from 3 pm in front of the Central Library of Dhaka University, they took a procession and gathered at Shahbag via VC Chattar-TSC. Around 4:15 pm, the protesters blocked the Shahbag intersection. Part of the agitators blocked the up and down part of the Mayor Hanif flyover near Paribag intersection near Hotel Intercontinental and another part near Chankharpul intersection.

The agitators took out a protest march in front of the library. Then they laid siege there. Meanwhile, students also blocked Banglamotor, Azimpur-Newmarket intersection. During the marches and blockades, the students chanted 'blockade-blockade-whole Bengal blockade, one point one demand-quota not come back', 'the movement cannot be stopped by obstacles', 'quota or medha? medha medha', compromise or struggle? Struggle struggle ', 18's circular-must be restored', 'Quota system should be abolished-talented people should be freed', 'All over Bengal give news-bury quota system', in our golden Bengal- there is no room for discrimination', 'Jegche re Jegche-Chattrora jegeche' all of that slogans they chanted during the protest. Due to the blockade of the students, severe traffic jams were seen as traffic was stopped at various points of the capital. The city dwellers suffer.

Meanwhile, the Bangla blockade announced from Shahbagh and the strike program in educational institutions has spread across the country. Students have blocked roads and highways, boycotted classes, distributed leaflets and campaigns in favor of the movement in different parts of the country.

 

New program announcement

 

The road will be blocked from 3:30 pm at yesterday in protest against the reinstatement of the quota system in government jobs. In Saturday evening, one of the organizers of the movement, Dhaka University student Nahid Islam said, 'Blockade will continue across the country from Monday from 3:30 pm.' Meanwhile, Aman Ullah Khan, coordinator of anti-RU quota movement, told the media, 'We are announcing boycott of all class-examinations from Monday and blockade of railways from as well.

 

Jahangirnagar:

Jahangirnagar University- Agitating students of Jahangirnagar University blocked the Dhaka-Aricha highway to take part in the 'Bangla Blockade'. The blockade program continued till 1 pm by blocking the road on both sides in front of the main gate of the university (Dairy Gate).

Jagannath:

General students of Jagannath University did not block the road but boycotted classes and observed a strike to demand quota reform. The agitators conducted public relations activities and distributed leaflets urging the teachers to stand in solidarity with the demand. Besides, the protesting students have announced the program of student rally and protest on monday at 2:30 PM at Kathaltala of the university.

Chittagong:

Students of Chittagong gathered at Sholashahar around 4 pm. Then the procession started from Sholashahar station. The procession arrived at Gate No 2 area of ​​the city at 4:20 and the students started sitting there. Students from various government colleges and private universities including Chittagong University participated in it.

Rajshahi:

Rajshahi University students staged a protest program inside the university on Paris Road from 3 pm to 5:30 pm.

Khulna:

Khulna Students of various educational institutions including KUET, Khulna University protested at Shibbari junction of the city.

Mymensingh:

The students of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University located in Trishal at 2.30 pm gathered at the university's Joy Bangla square and raised anti-quota slogans. On the other hand, the students of Bangladesh Agricultural University did not hold any program Saturday but announced a protest march yesterday.

Kushtia:

The students of Kustia Islami University blocked the Khulna-Kushtia highway from 11:30 am to 1:30 am.

Pabna:

PUST students blocked the Dhaka-Pabna highway in front of the main gate of the university at 12 noon. The students blocked the road for 30 minutes with their demands.

Jashore:

From 3.15 pm to 4 pm, the agitating students of Jashore University of Science and Technology blocked the road in front of the university and held a protest program.

Barisal:

At 11 o'clock students took out a procession from the ground floor of Barisal University and surrounded the residential hall and library and blocked the Dhaka-Kuakata highway. Almost all vehicles except ambulances and emergency vehicles were stopped on the highway till 3 pm.

Rangpur:

The students of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur did not block the road but held a strike and campaigned against the quota.

Comilla:

The students of Comilla University protested and blocked the Dhaka-Chittagong highway from 3 pm. Students stayed on the highway till 8 pm.

Gopalganj:

Students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University of Science and Technology of Gopalganj took out a protest march around different places of the campus at 4 pm. Later, the agitating students blocked the Dhaka-Khulna highway from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. During this time, the students took part in the cricket-football game on the highway.

Dinajpur:

Students of Hazi Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology protested against the quota system by blocking the Dhaka-Rangpur highway from 12 pm to 1.30 pm.
