Burimari Express train service has been inaugurated from Burimari railway station of Patgram in Lalmonirhat. This made it easier for the people of Lalmonirhat district to travel safely and establish communication with Dhaka at low cost.
Valiant freedom fighter Motahar Hossain, Member of Parliament for Lalmonirhat-1 Constituency, officially inaugurated the train from Burimari railway station on Tuesday by cutting the ribbon. On this occasion, Lalmonirhat-2 Constituency Member of Parliament and former Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Lalmonirhat-3 Constituency Member of Parliament Advocate Matiar Rahman and others were present as Railway Rajshahi Western Regional Manager Asim Kumar Talukdar, Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ullah, and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saiful Islam, Patgram Upazila Parishad Chairman Ruhul Amin Babul and Patgram Upazila Awami League President Purna Chandra Roy was there. Lalmonirhat Divisional Railway Manager Abdus Salam presided over the inauguration ceremony.
As the train started from Burimari railway station, new communication was established with passengers holding passport and visa of India, Bhutan, and Nepal. Along with socio-economic development, there will be economic development. As the train started its journey, a new door of communication with Dhaka was opened for hundreds of thousands of people of Aditamari, Kaliganj, Hatibandha and Patgram upazilas of Lalmonirhat. The train will stop at 11 stations en route from Burimari to Dhaka and 12 stations on the way back from Dhaka to Burimari.
Asim Kumar Talukder, Rajshahi West Manager of Bangladesh Railway said The Burimari Express train will run from Lalmonirhat railway station to Dhaka until the Was Ped and other infrastructure are constructed at Burimari railway station.
