Kulik River flows over Ranishankail Upazila of Thakurgaon. It originates from the Raipur Union's Beel of Thakurgaon upazila and Baliadangi upazila in the Thakurgaon district of Bangladesh. Then through India again entered Haripur Upazila of Bangladesh.

In Bangladesh, Baliadangi, Ranishankail, and Haripur upazilas are located in the upstream. The river is a Bangladesh-India transboundary river. King Tongnath's palace is located on the banks of this river. It is a river flowing through North Bengal of Bangladesh and West Bengal of India.

The length of the river is 6.36 km in the Bangladesh part and 75.64 km in the Indian part. The river has a width of 100 m, a depth of 30 m, and a basin area of 150 sq km in the Bhutdangi area. Boats, launches, and steamers used to run in this river, but now there is no sight of them. With time, the once eternally youthful river has lost its form and beauty. It has become necessary to restore the navigability of the river by re-dredging it.
