Teaching disrupted due to teacher shortage

Madaripur Government College currently has 23 teacher posts vacant including 15 lecturer posts. Although about 15 thousand students are studying in the government college, there is no initiative to fill the vacant posts of teachers. Meanwhile, normal teaching is disrupted due to a lack of teachers.

According to college authority sources, the traditional government college currently has 15 posts of lecturers and five posts of associate professors vacant. Besides, two librarians and one post of physical education teacher have been vacant for a long time in the library department.

Two lecturer posts in the chemistry department and two lecturer posts in the social welfare department are vacant. Meanwhile, 11 posts of lecturers are vacant in the departments of Bengali, English, Economics, Philosophy, History, and Culture of Islam, Physics, Islamic Education, Botany, Geography, Management, and Agricultural Science. A total of five posts of Associate Professor are vacant in the History, Accountancy, Geography, Botany, and Zoology departments.

College principal Professor Zaman Mia said that the departmental higher authority has been informed that 23 posts of teachers are vacant in the college.
