In Mymensingh's Trishal, three police officers were hacked and an accused was robbed of an arrest warrant. The injured police officers are undergoing treatment at the Mymensingh Medical College (MMEC) Hospital. The condition of one of them is critical. The incident took place in Shimuliapara area of Dhanikhla Union of Trishal last Sunday night. The injured police officers are SI Ismail Hossain (30), ASI Golam Rasul (35) and ASI Rakib (39). All of them are working in Trishal police station.
Mohammad Jahangir, Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Police Camp In charge (SI), said ASI Rakib got injured by knife in belly. He was operated on. SI Ismail has bruises on his back and ASI Rasul on his elbows. At first the bleeding was not stopping. The injured have been sent to bed. Among them, Rakib's condition is somewhat serious.
Chand Mia, Trishal Police Station Inspector (Investigation) said the police officers went to Shimuliapara area of Dhanikhla Union to arrest an accused named Bedena. When the accused was found at home and wanted to be arrested, her son Naeem and Haroon cut down three police officers and snatched away their mother. Hearing news, the team rescued the injured policemen from the spot and sent them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. But accused Bedena and others escaped. An operation is underway to arrest them.
