Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 12 kg of explosives at Shibganj border in Chapainawabganj. The incident took place at Telkupi border of Shahbazpur Union of Upazila last Sunday morning. BGB confirmed the matter through a press release in the evening.
Captain of Rahanpur Battalion (59 BGB) Lt. Col. Golam Kibria said, based on the news that explosives are being smuggled through the border, they took up a position in an Ambagan of Telkupi village of Shahabajpur Union. At that time, 2 persons entered the interior of Bangladesh from India when the patrol team of BGB chased them, they left the two plastic sacks in their hands and ran away. After searching the two sacks left behind, 12 kg of explosives were found. Later the seized explosives were deposited in Shibganj police station and legal action was taken.
