300 students miss exam for teachers‍‍` inter-clash

Like the rest of the country, the first day's half-yearly aggregate evaluation exam was held simultaneously on Wednesday. However, about 300 students of the class 6, 7, 8 & 9 of Monkanda MU Alim Madrasah and BM College could not participate in the special evaluation examination due to the conflict between the two groups of the madrasah.

According to sources, recently some teachers, employees and locals of the institution clashed with the principal over allegations of irregularities and corruption. As a result, on June 11, the opponent teachers-locals alliance locked the principal's room with an attack on the pro-principal teachers. Since then, pro-principal teachers and employees have refrained from going to the madrasah out of fear.

As a result, the madrasah is still locked. Although 23 days have passed since the incident of locking the madrasah, no one is coming forward to open the lock locally or locally. For this reason, half-yearly comprehensive evaluation examinations including teaching in madrasah are not being held.

Meanwhile, there is growing anger among the parents as there is no half-yearly comprehensive evaluation test. Locals said the madrasah is on the verge of collapse due to the conflict between the two sides. Since the beginning of the year, there have been two incidents of locking of madrasah. There was no proper class, now the evaluation test is not being done. The lives of our children are being ruined by the wrath of their two sides. They want this conflict resolved quickly.

AMM Mohibbullah, principal of the madrasah, said, "At the instigation of some teachers, some people in the village joined hands with them and started against me. They attacked me in January. Although I did not go to the Madrasah due to this motivated situation and their aggressive behavior, all the activities including teaching of the Madrasah are going on under the leadership of the Vice Principal."

He also said that an emergency meeting was held at the municipal building under the leadership of Upazila Nirbahi Officer on Wednesday night with municipal mayor Asadul Haque Bhuiyan, Upazila Secondary Education Officer, people from both sides of the madrasah and distinguished persons. Half-yearly examinations will be held according to the routine from next Saturday and Wednesday's test will be taken at a convenient time.

Upazila Secondary Education Officer Saiful Islam said the decision to open the locks of the madrasah was taken at an emergency meeting with municipal mayor Asadul Haque Bhuiyan, Upazila Secondary Education Officer, people from both sides of the madrasah at the municipal building on Wednesday night. Classes and exams will continue from now on.
