Police raided the BNP Union March program at Maheshpur in Jhenaidah and arrested BNP’s 6 activists.
Last Saturday afternoon, raids were conducted in various unions of the Upazila and the activists were arrested. The arrested are- Suruzzaman (26), son of Safa Hossain of Kazirberd village in the upazila. Hasanuzzaman (24), son of Jahangir Alam of the same village, Abu Taleb (30) son of Munsur Ali Mandal of Jagusa village. And Mozaffar Hossain (28), Zakir Hossain (40) son of Mangal Chan Biswas of Bathangachi village and Anwar Hossain (52) son of Daud Hossain of jogihuda village. Maheshpur Police Station OC Khandkar Shamim Uddin said that they were arrested as they attacked the police during the march. A case has been filed in this regard. Those arrested were handed over to the court on Sunday afternoon.
