Divisional program of BNP has started in Sylhet. Local leaders and activists are speaking at Aliya Madrasa ground. In his place, BNP Central Vice Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan attended the meeting as the chief guest.
He has already reached Sylhet. Sylhet leaders and activists welcomed him with flowers when he arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport. He was accompanied by local affairs secretary of BNP central committee, former Member of Parliament, joint secretary of Mahila Dal central committee and in-charge leader of Sylhet division Shammi Akhtar.
Based on the program, BNP leaders and activists from four districts of Sylhet are already gathering at the official Alia Madrasa ground in Sylhet metropolis. Banners, festoons with pictures of leaders and workers covered the entire field. The present leaders and activists are chanting party slogans.
Leaders and activists are coming to Sylhet from different districts and upazilas of Sylhet by trucks and microbuses. They are entering Aliya field in groups with procession. Those concerned are expecting the presence of half a lakh leaders and activists in the program.
The divisional program will consist of a rally first followed by a procession in the afternoon. The procession will end at the registry ground via Chowhatta, Jindabazar, Bandarbazar from the gathering place. The participants in the procession will carry portrait-festoons of martyrs of the recent student-mass movement and earlier democratic movements and festoons with photographs of missing BNP leaders and workers, national flags and party flags.
