The Bangladesh Army has formally handed over the looted weapons from Munshiganj's Tongibari police station to the police station. Tongibari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Aslam Hossain handed over the recovered weapons to OC (Investigation) Shafiuddin Ahmed in the police station premises yesterday. Army, police officers and local journalists were present along with Captain Colonel Charles, who was in charge of the army camp.
In order to assist the civil administration in controlling the situation arising in the country in recent times, under 'In Aid to Civil Power' under the direction of Lt Col Zubair Mohammad Khaled Hossain from 05 August 2024, patrolling activities were conducted in Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj district, 79 weapons kept with the public at various times ( Rifles, pistols, short guns) and 3891 rounds of ammunition and other government equipment were recovered and handed over to the OC (Investigation).
