A case has been filed at Sonargaon police station with former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the main accused in the incident of a man named Md Jahangir being shot in the forehead in Sonargaon of Narayanganj. Chan Mia's son of Otma area of Jampur union filed this case in Kanchpur area after being shot and injured. Sonargaon police officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Bari confirmed the authenticity of the case. Earlier on Monday night, Md Jahangir, who was injured, filed this case as a plaintiff against former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Pirojpur Union Parishad Chairman Masudur Rahman Masum, Sonargaon Jubo League President Rafiqul Islam Nannu, Sonargaon Awami League Organizing Secretary Haji Shah, Sohag Roni, Kanchpur Union Parishad Chairman Mosharraf Hossain and 151 names were mentioned. Besides, 200 people were made unknown accused.
It is mentioned in the case that on the afternoon of July 19 at Kanchpur area of Sonargaon, Jahangir along with the above-mentioned accused including Chhatra League, Jubo League and Swechasebak League fired on the student and crowd. A bullet hit him in the forehead and he fell down in a bloody state. Later he took treatment at Dhaka Medical College. Earlier, four murder cases and one injury case were filed against Awami League and affiliated organization leaders-activists at Sonargaon Police Station in connection with the death of students in the anti-discrimination movement in Kanchpur area. There have been 6 cases on this. A police source confirmed that more cases are under process.
