Brutal robbery in Kalapara

A violent robbery took place in Patuakhali's Kalapara. Organized bandits looted cash and gold ornaments with hands and feet tied. Besides, a motorcycle of the victim's family was stolen by a group of robbers.

The incident took place at the house of Alauddin Mia, a resident of Salimpur village in Nilganj union of the upazila last Monday. However, the locals arrested a member of the dacoit group along with the motorcycle and handed it over to the police station.

Regarding the incident, Alauddin Mia, the owner of that house, said that a group of robbers of 13 members entered their house at around 3 o'clock in the night. After that, 6/7 members of the robber gang entered the house by opening the door bolt through the window and attacked them. Later, the bandits looted Tk 1 lakh 97 thousand in cash, more than 10 gold ornaments and five land deeds from the house. When the incident was known, they immediately informed the Patuakhali toll plaza from Kalapara toll plaza, and the dacoit member along with the motorcycle was arrested and handed over to the police station.

Kalapara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Ali Ahmed said that a member of the bandit gang was arrested at Patuakhali Toll Plaza and kept in police custody. Further legal proceedings are ongoing.
