Bus robbery in disguise, three nabbed

Dhamrai Thana police have arrested three dacoits of the inter-district robbers’ gang in Dhaka's Dhamrai. At that time, the police recovered four domestic weapons (knives) used in the robbery and Tk 3240 from the robbers.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Crime, Ops and Traffic (North) Md Jasim Uddin PPM gave this information in a press briefing at Dhamrai police station on yesterday afternoon. Earlier on Friday morning, the police arrested two robbers from the Bathuli area of ​​the upazila. On the basis of the information given by two robbers, the police arrested another robber from Kalampur in the evening of the same day.

The arrested robbers are Shahidul Islam's son Sajib Hossain (25), Sheikh Iman Ali's son Mizanur Rahman (25), Feroze's son Fazlu (28). All of them are residents of the shelter project of Sutipara Union of Dhamrai Upazila.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Crime, Ops and Traffic (North) Md Jasim Uddin PPM said at the press briefing that on the last 31st october, an Islam Paribahan bus left for Dhaka with 43 passengers from Panchagarh. When the transport reached the Kaddar junction of Sirajganj, seven robbers boarded the transport at around four in the morning. At five o'clock in the morning, after crossing the Tangail Bypass, the robbers boarded the transport and committed the robbery. Immediately after the incident, under the direction and supervision of Dhaka District Police Superintendent Ahmed Mueed, a four-member police team of Dhamrai police station arrested them.
