Campaign to discourage use of banned polythene

The production, marketing and use of banned polythene/polypropylene shopping bags in Mujibnagar has been banned by law.

As part of this campaign, the Mujibnagar Upazila administration has launched a campaign to alert and discourage the public at the initial stage.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Khairul Islam and Assistant Director of the District Environment Department Mozaffar Khan conducted the campaign in Kedarganj Bazar of the upazila.

At that time, leaflets were distributed to make the public aware of the marketing and use of banned polythene/polypropylene.

At the time, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer said to the people, "The drive against banned polythene has started across the country from November 1, but we are warning you at the initial stage so that you refrain from using banned polythene/polypropylene shopping bags. Polyethylene has a serious impact on the environment. We want to gift a beautiful environment to our future generation, so let's stop using banned polythene and use its alternative."

Mujibnagar Police Station Sub-Inspector Abdur Razzak, Mujibnagar Press Club President Munshi and Omar Faruk Prince and General Secretary Hasan Mostafizur Rahman were present on the occasion.
