Case filed against 10000 unnamed people

A case has been filed against 10,000 unidentified people in the case of arson, vandalism, looting and assault at Chagalnaya police station in Feni after receiving the news of dictator Sheikh Hasina's resignation and fleeing the country.

Police Station OC Md Hasan Imam confirmed this information yesterday and said that around 4:00 pm on August 5, a group of local disorderly mobs started attacking, burning and vandalizing Chagalnaya police station in the district.

Various documents, computers, 4 cars, 47 motorcycles along with all the furniture were destroyed along with the police station administrative building, police barracks, OC's residence and other buildings. Apart from that, those miscreants looted various furniture and goods along with 23 weapons. In this incident, at least 10 crores of damage has been done.

The OC also said that on the day of the incident, policemen on duty including him were staying at the police station complex. A few local rioters suddenly came to the police station and attacked the police by arson and vandalism. 5 policemen were injured along with him. All the signs including the important documents of the police station were burnt to ashes.

He said that no one came forward to rescue the police that day. They looted the goods including police station weapons. Among the looted weapons, 18 weapons were recovered except 3 pistols and 2 shotguns.

Last Tuesday (September 17), a case has been filed in the incident, accusing 8-10 unknown people involved in the incident. After that, the identity of those responsible will be identified and arrested and brought under the law.
