City submerged due to heavy rain

Most of the roads in Madaripur city have been submerged due to continuous rain. Many people have become trapped due to water entering their homes. Public suffering has become extreme.

Meteorological office sources said that for the last two days, torrential rains have been falling across Madaripur district. Madaripur has recorded 166 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Office has recorded 214 mm rainfall in two days. Yesterday maximum temperature was 27.00 degree Celsius and minimum temperature was 24.08 degree Celsius. Most of the roads in the city are submerged due to continuous rain.

This has increased the suffering of common people. Hardworking people are in dire straits. It has been found that the city's khaddo office intersection, Sura Hospital Road, Kalibari Road, UI School Road, Batamtala Road, Shaheed Manik Road, Shaheed Bachchu Road, Public Library Road, Tarmugaria and other areas have been submerged in rain water. Locals think that it will take a long time for the water to recede. Normal activities have been disrupted due to inundation of roads and houses. Residents suffer as a result.

Meanwhile, load shedding has increased in the district for the last two days. Although the city has electricity for some time, the level of load shedding has become severe in rural areas. It disrupts daily activities. Khandkar Abu Ahmed Firoz Ilyias, secretary of Madaripur municipality, said that water has accumulated on some roads due to heavy rainfall.

The water will slowly go down. Different areas of the city still do not have a good drainage system, so it takes time for the rainwater to go down. If there is a better drainage system, the city dwellers will not have this suffering. Madaripur Meteorological Office official Moniruzzaman said that a total of 214 millimeters of rain has been recorded in two days, including 166 millimeters in the last 24 hours and 48 millimeters in the previous 24 hours. The weather of the district may change from last night. Later everything will be normal.
