Satkhira District Primary Education Office has decided to withdraw Islamic and moral education books given to class 3 students of 1094 primary schools in Sat Upazila.
The assistant primary teacher officers of the upazila gave instructions to take back the textbook that was distributed after the book festival last Monday. Since then, the teachers of the educational institution started taking back those books from the students. However, the teachers of the concerned schools did not agree to open their mouths about why these textbooks were being taken back.
It has been seen in the Town Sultanpur Government Primary School of Satkhira city, that teachers of various primary schools are submitting Islamic and moral education books to the school in the presence of assistant education officers. Those who are late in coming or submitting the books are urged by the officials to submit the books quickly.
The teachers of various institutions who came to submit the books said on the condition of anonymity, that after the distribution of the books, the assistant education officers asked us to return all the distributed Islamic books of the third class. That is why we take the initiative to take back the books immediately. Although many students did not come to school, we went to their homes and collected books.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shamim Bhuiya Chowdhury said that the books were returned due to a printing mistake.
District Primary Education Officer (DPEO) Hosne Isaymin Karimi said that it is not possible to say anything without the permission of higher authorities. We can give details about this later.
