The 12th National Parliament election will be held on January 7. Candidates are busy campaigning around the elections. 9 candidates from different parties including the ruling Awami League (AL) are contesting in the Narsingdi-5 seat this year. The alleys of Raipura are covered with posters.
Also, the campaign is going on with Mike. Candidates are spending busy time through mass communication including yard meetings. Although 9 candidates from this seat were in the election battle, the most publicity was seen in the AL nominated candidate, independent candidate of the AL, candidate of Jatiya Party, and candidate of Islami Oikya Jot Bangladesh.
In the Narsingdi-5 (Raipura) Constituency, Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju is contesting with Awami League's nominated boat symbol. He is a Member of Parliament elected from this constituency for six consecutive times. Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, another candidate of the ruling party the AL, is in the fight for votes as his main opponent. He is on the ballot with the eagle symbol. Mizanur Rahman Chaudhuri was in charge as the joint general secretary of AL and former upazila chairman.
As a candidate of Jatiya Pati, engineer Shahidul Islam is continuing to fight in this seat with the plow symbol. Mufti Abdul Quader Mollah, candidate for Minar symbol nominated by Islami Oikyazot Bangladesh, Mahfuzur Rahman, Torch symbol candidate of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Mohammad Bitu Mia, Television symbol of Bangladesh Nationalist Front (BNF) are also in the voting field.
Also, there are Ganafront's Nazmul Haque Sikder (Fish), Bangladesh Congress's Mumtaz Mahal (Dub), and independent candidate Solaiman Khandkar (Scissors).
