Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-9 has arrested Taufiq Bux Lipon, former councilor of Ward No 26 of Sylhet City Corporation and Metropolitan Awami League leader.
A RAB-9 team arrested him from Mirabazar area of Sylhet city at 2 pm yesterday. There are several cases of murder and sabotage against him in South Surma police station. According to RAB sources, yesterday a raiding team of RAB-9 conducted an operation in Mirabazar area under Kotyali police station of the city and arrested Taufiq Bux Lipon, former councilor of Ward No 26 of CSIC and Awami League leader of the city.
RAB said that the process of handing over the arrest warrant to South Surma police station is in process. RAB-9 senior media officer SMP Moshihur Rahman Sohel confirmed the matter.
