Early flood warning messages and flood preparedness response drills were held in the remote areas of Kurigram's rivers. The flood preparedness and response exercise was held at Sadar Upazila's Mogulbasar Char yesterday, organized by Good Neighbors Bangladesh Kurigram. The program was inaugurated by District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer M Abdul Hai Sarkar. Good Neighbors Bangladesh Kurigram Manager, Romeo Ratan Gomez presided over the event and Sadar Thana Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazmul Alam, Sadar Bhumi Officer Md Ariful Islam, Moglabasa Union Chairman Mahfuzar Rahman, Deputy Assistant Officer Rajan Kumar and others were present at the event. At this time, Good Neighbors Bangladesh Manager Romeo Ratan Gomez highlighted the harmful aspects of floods, including providing warning messages and directions regarding flood preparation to the beneficiaries. The speakers said that the people of Kurigram suffered huge economic losses due to flood and river erosion. If we do not prepare in advance to get rid of it, then the amount of damage will be reduced a lot. Later the members participated in the response drill.
