Four people, including two helpers, were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Barishal highway in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj.
The accident took place in front of Domarakandi Lam Mim Highway Restaurant on Dhaka-Barisal highway in Raghdi union of Muksudpur upazila yesterday noon.
The deceased were identified as Abul Bashar Sheikh (35), and Abul Khair Sheikh (30), sons of Abu Raihan Sheikh, Yar Ali (40), and Hasan Sheikh (26). All the deceased were from Baraitala Bishambhardi village in Muksudpur upazila.
Bhanga Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Sayeed Md Khairul Anam confirmed the incident.
Police and locals said a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Sakura Paribahan hit a truck in front of Domarakandi Lam Mim Highway Restaurant in Raghdi union of Muksudpur upazila yesterday afternoon. At that time, a truck coming from the other side collided head-on with a Tekerhat-bound truck. Easybike falls in the middle. Two passengers of the easybike were killed on the spot. Several others, including the easybike driver, were injured in the accident. Yar Ali (40), and Hasan Sheikh (26), were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries in the afternoon.
