Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) has seized smuggled goods worth Tk 1.65 crore in a drive in the border areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts.
Yesterday, the BOP conducted a drive in the border areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts in Sreepur, Tamabil, Sangram, Sonarhat, Pratappur, Panthumai, Utma, Minatila, Kalairag, Kala Sadek, and Banglabazar and seized these goods.
The seized goods include Indian Nivea Soft Cream, Garnier Man Facewash, Nivea Body Lotion, Myfair Cream, Diclo-M Tablets, Winter Blankets, Sugar, Chocolate, Soap, Cow, Phensedyl, Bangladeshi Garlic, Horn Fish and Illegal Stone Mining Boats along with other Indian products. The estimated value of the seized goods is Tk 1.65 crore 9.5 lakh.
Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Hafizur Rahman, PSC said that as per the instructions of the higher headquarters, the BGB's operational activities and intelligence activities are continuing to the fullest to maintain security at the border and prevent smuggling. In continuation of this, the smuggled goods were seized by conducting operations in the border areas.
