A housewife named Shibla Das (25) died by hanging from the neck of a flyer in Khutakhali of Chakaria upazila in Cox's Bazar. The accident took place around 9:00 am yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Shibla Das (22), wife of Ranjit Das of Jaldash Para of North Fulchhari of Ward No. 7 of Khutakhali union of the upazila. She is the mother of a daughter. Ranjit Das is the son of Pethan Das of the area.
Pethan Das, the elderly mother-in-law of the deceased, said, I brought a handful of radish vegetables to my daughter-in-law at around 7 am and went to the nearby shop. When he came home at 9 o'clock, the vegetable was outside. Later, when I called my daughter-in-law, I did not get any answer and went inside their house and saw Shibla hanging from the neck with a fly on the shore. When I screamed, the neighbors came.
Chakaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Manjur Quader Bhuiyan said Shibla Das died by hanging himself. I sent it to the morgue for autopsy. Action will be taken after receiving the investigation report.
