Chhatra League leader Abdur Rahim Hriday, who was arrested in the case of student Sarwar Jahan Masud's murder in the student movement in Mohipal of Feni for one-point demand for the resignation of autocrat Sheikh Hasina, has given a confession statement in the court under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
His statement was recorded in the court of District Chief Judicial Magistrate Syed Shafayat on Friday. Earlier on Thursday, Hridoy was arrested from Shaheed Shahidullah Kaiser Road in the city.
ASI of Feni Model Police Station and investigating officer of the case Belal Hossain confirmed this information. Advocate Mejbah Uddin Bhuiyan, the lawyer of the plaintiff side of the case, said that Hridiya Mohipal has admitted his involvement in the murder in the deposition. He is a member of local terrorist Pitu-Sabbir forces. He was sent to jail after recording the statement.
Before this, Bibi Kulsoom, the mother of Sarwar Jahan Masood, a first-year degree student, who was killed in Mohipal on August 16, filed the case at Feni Model Police Station, mentioning the names of 134 people and 150-200 others as unknown accused. The deceased Masud is the son of Shahjahan of North Jayalskar area of Daganbhuiya Upazila.
