Human chain against false case to journalist

A human chain and rally was held to protest against the murder of Ashiq, who was killed in the anti-discrimination movement in Kurigram, and to withdraw the conspiratorial false case against 3 journalists of Kurigram and to arrest the attackers of a journalist.

Organized by the Kurigram Press Club, a human chain and rally was held at the Press Club Chattar yesterday. In the rally, the general secretary of Kurigram Press Club Abdul Khalek Farooq, sports secretary Humayun Kabir Surya and member Yusuf Alamgir demanded the immediate withdrawal of the conspiracy case and the arrest of the attackers of the member Yunus Ali.

Among others, Senior Journalist Safi Khan, Advocate Ahsan Habib Nilu, Cover President Shyamal Bhowmik, Press Club President Raju Mostafiz, Acting General Secretary Mahfuz Khandkar, Journalists Ariful Islam Regan, Sujan Mohant, etc spoke.

At that time, the speakers said that on August 4, journalists were attacked by the leaders of the then government party in Ghoshpara, along with the Kurigram Press Club. Since the beginning of the movement, journalists have supported the students in various ways. Even the children of some journalists were involved in the student movement. But after the movement, a student named Rahul Amin of Kurigram Government College filed a case against three journalists of Kurigram Press Club.

On the other hand, in the August 4 incident, press club member Yunus Ali and camera persons were attacked by the leadership of Chhatra League. Therefore, the speakers demanded immediate withdrawal of the false case against the three journalists of the Press Club and the arrest of the attackers of the other journalist. Otherwise, a larger movement program will be developed, he said. It is to be noted that on August 4, a student named Rahul Amin of Kurigram Government College filed a case in the name of 3 journalists, accusing them of attacking the anti-discrimination student movement in Kurigram. 104 people have been accused in this case.
