A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of International Disaster Risk Reduction day in Barishal.
Organized by the Barishal district administration, a colorful rally and discussion meeting was held yesterday morning to celebrate International Disaster Mitigation Day in the meeting room of the District Commissioner's office in collaboration with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
Barishal District Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Delwar Hossain was the chief guest on the occasion. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Lusikant Hajong presided over the function.
Also present were members of District Disaster Management Committee, representatives of development organizations, cultural personalities, representatives of various government and private institutions. In the beginning, a colorful rally came out from the premises of the District Commissioner's office and circled the important roads of the city and ended at the District Commissioner's office. Later the guests discussed the significance of International Disaster Mitigation Day.
