Free seeds and fertilizers were distributed among small marginal farmers in Bheramara of Kushtia under the incentive program in the fiscal year 2024-25 to increase the cultivation of black gram in the Kharif-2 season.
Bheramara Upazila Agriculture Department distributed free seeds and fertilizers among 250 small marginal farmers of the upazila under the incentive program for the fiscal year 2024-25 at 11 am yesterday.
Bheramara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Akash Kumar Kundu inaugurated the seed distribution programme.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Anwar Hossain, Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Nasir Uddin, Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Shammi Shirin, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Jannatul Ferdous, Upazila BRDP Officer Zahurul Islam and others were present as special guests.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Mahmuda Sultana presented detailed information on the distribution of free seeds and fertilizers to farmers under the government's agriculture and farmer incentives.
UNO Akash Kumar Kundu in his speech appreciated the agricultural incentive program of the government and drew the attention of the present farmers to use the distributed seeds and fertilizers properly.
It should be noted that according to the information of the Agriculture Office, a total of 250 farmers of the upazila will be given 5 kg of seeds, 10 kg of DAP and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer for free.
