Murder case against 90 people in Singair

A case of murder has been filed against Singair Upazila Awami League leaders and policemen, with former Member of Parliament of Manikganj-2 constituency Mumtaz Begum as the main accused.

A murder case was filed in the Manikganj Judicial Court on February 24, 2013 in connection with the massacre of four people by police and Awami League activists in Gobindal village of Singair Upazila of Manikganj.

Shahidul Islam, the brother of Shaheed Maulana Nasir Uddin, filed the case in the learned Judicial Magistrate Rahul's court last Wednesday, accusing former MP Mumtaz Begum, 52 leaders and workers, 38 policemen and 50/60 unknown people as defendants. Which is CR Case No 801 (Singh-24).

The rest of the accused in the case are former municipal mayor Mir Shahjahan, former upazila chairman Mushfiqur Rahman Khan Hannan, upazila Awami League vice-president Abdul Majed Khan, vice-president Ramzan Ali chairman, Shahidur Rahman aka VP Shahid, Syedul Islam, Ramez Uddin and a total of 52 people.

Police members are Manikganj Sadar Circle, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Kamrul Islam, Manikganj DB Police OC Md Mohibul Alam, Madan Mohan Banik, Mohammad Rabiul Islam, Singair police station SI Adil Mahmud, Mozammel Hossain and 38 people.
