An investigation has been completed against the transferred director of Satkhira Medical College Hospital (SMCH) Dr Sheetal Chowdhury on charges of irregularities and corruption.
A team led by Manjurul Ahsan, director of Khulna Divisional Health Department, came to investigate SMCH on July 6 under the direction of the Ministry of Health. Earlier on Monday, a notification signed by MK Hasan Zahid, assistant secretary of the Health Services Division under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, transferred Sheetal Chowdhury as OSD.
But he was reluctant to leave the responsibility with various excuses. After the publication of a series of news against his corruption in The Daily Post, the matter was shaken by the higher quarters.
Finally, on Monday, Dr Sheetal Chowdhury handed over the responsibility of Dr Kudrat-e-Khuda. Later, Dr Sheetal Chowdhury left the hospital.
Hearing the news of Dr Kudrat-e-Khuda joining the hospital, people from different walks of life came to the hospital from 10 am to greet him. Later, there was a lot of activity among the officers. Their pale faces are now full of smiles.
The officials assured the current SMCH director Dr Kudrat-e-Khuda that they would ensure the quality of service to the patients coming to the hospital for treatment.
