Rajiv Sikder remained at Savar police station for some mysterious reason, even though the superintendent of police and even the sub-inspectors were transferred.
The students associated with the anti-discrimination student movement said that SI Rajiv Sikder was directly involved with others in the incident of killing by firing directly at the students to suppress the revolution in July-August.
SI Rajib Shikder embarked on a huge money trade mission by arranging murder and attempted murder cases on behalf of the martyrs and injured families of the agitation and by framing the accused at will.
On July 20, during the non-violent movement of the students, Israfil Hossain, a grocery shopkeeper, was shot dead at Savar Bazar bus stand. He escaped death after being shot in the hand and stomach, but his right arm was paralyzed. He has already spent more than Tk 10 lakh with high interest and loans to meet medical expenses in various private hospitals.
Taking advantage of this weakness of the shot dead Israfil Hossain, SI Rajib advised him to file a case in court. He said, if the case is filed, there will be a record in the government's account. You will also get compensation at the earliest.
Recently, a conversation between Savar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Rajib Shikder and the shot businessman Israfil Hossain went viral on social media. Unwilling to file a case there, the grocer told Israfil, 50 thousand rupees have been paid to me. You will get money only by suing. Israfil said, I do not know any of those who have been accused. And the police shot me. Why should I file a case against innocent people?
SI said, there is no problem. Go to court. By arresting the accused and making an affidavit, you will say that the accused has been given wrongly and you will get one lakh from each accused.
When contacted, SI Rajeev Sikder told this reporter that he actually wanted to financially support the small businessman who was shot; But he did not think that the matter would go so far.
Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jewel Mia said, the matter has come to our attention. Such behavior by a police officer is against the law.
The Ministry of Home Affairs warned everyone through a notification on October 14 not to file such cases, stating that it is a criminal offense to file false and harassing cases. Nevertheless, such behavior by a police officer has tarnished our image. After reporting the matter to Superintendent of Police Sir, he was closed from Savar Model Police Station on Saturday night. He also said that departmental action is being taken against him.
