Tk 350 crore allocated in 12 projects

The image of neglected Jamalpur has changed a lot as work is visible in the allocation of Tk 350 crore in 12 projects of the Department of Public Health in the neglected Jamalpur district. It is believed that the sufferings of the people of this neglected district will be greatly improved.
However, many projects have been undertaken for development in this district, said Sultan Mahmud, Executive Engineer of the District Public Health Directorate. He joined Jamalpur district on October 20, 2020. Since then, many people said that the development work in this district is progressing both ways.
According to Jamalpur Directorate of Public Health, 1560 deep tube wells with submersible pumps and 962 shallow tube wells and 329 community used water supply schemes in Jamalpur district for the safe water supply project in the whole country from 2020-21 financial year to the current financial year, Tk 83 crore 44 lakh 78 thousand. Tk 3 crore 35 lakhs 24 thousand in 639 shallow tube wells in Koyeti Upazila of the shelter project built for the landless and homeless in Mujib centenary, Tk 17 crore 38 lakhs 75 thousand for the construction of 107 wash blocks and Tk 2 crore 97 lakhs 95 thousand for the construction of 161 water sources.
Tk 12 crore 63 lakh 54 thousand for construction of 92 wash blocks of NNCPS development project and Tk 2 crore 97 lakh 95 thousand for installation of 161 water sources, Tk 84 crore 70 lakh for 484 wash blocks of PEDP development project and Tk 15 crore 68 lakh for installation of 800 water sources and 47,000 pumped shallow tube wells under the revenue budget of Tk 53,78,000 for the construction of 1 laboratory building for water quality testing system strengthening project, 16 hand wash stations and 36 sanitation for human resource development in rural water supply, sanitation and hygiene projects.
Tk 10 crore 36 lakh 84 thousand in Hajin Facilities and 28 sub-months, Tk 16 crore 71 lakh 59 thousand in 96 community beige water supply schemes, Tk 5 crore 51 lakh in 31 main piped water supply schemes, 4 large pipe water supply schemes in Sarishabari, Motherganj and Melandah upazilas.
The construction work was completed at a cost of Tk 24 crore 83 lakh 68 thousand. In addition to this, in 32 municipality Tk 85 lakhs to cost for the construction of pipelines and digging 2 production tube wells, exploratory drilling test tube wells, 2 pump houses and 2 submersible pumps in environmental sanitation project with water supply and human waste management and 77 lakhs 92 thousand for 32 km pipeline construction. Tk 1 crore 4 lakh 48 thousand for the construction of 1.5 km RCC drain, Tk 5 crore 91 lakh 14 thousand for the construction of 1 water treatment plant and transmission pipe line, Tk 7 crore 4 lakh 85 thousand for the construction of 1 fecal sewage and solid waste management, 4 public toilets and 12 community toilets and 25 community bins were developed at a cost of Tk 58 lakh 93 thousand.
Meanwhile, in Jamalpur Economic Zone project, Tk 3 lakh 8 thousand for the construction of 4 experimental tube wells, Tk 1 crore 34 lakh for the construction of 2 production tube wells and 4 experimental tube wells and pump house with electromechanical, Tk 5 crore 65 lakh for the construction of an underground reservoir with a capacity of 3000 cubic meters. 8 experimental tube wells, 4 production tube wells, 4 pump houses, 4 boundary walls, 4 submersible pumps, etc will be built. Tk 10 crore 90 lakh 18 thousand for the construction of 6.2 km surface drain, Tk 21 crore 28 lakh 52 thousand for the construction of 1 surface water treatment plant, Tk 1 crore 11 lakh for the construction of 400 m surface drain walkway.
On the other hand, Tk 9 crore 75 lakh 28 thousand for the installation of drains and tube wells in 30 municipalities in Islampur, Tk 3 crore 43 lakh 7 thousand for the construction of 3 test tube wells, productive tube wells and 3 pump houses, Tk 21 lakh 41 thousand for the engineer office, 3 public toilet, 1 fecal sludge treatment plant for Tk 2 crore 27 lakh 22 thousand, 982 public toilet construction, Tk 6 crore 90 lakh 34 thousand, work of Islampur municipality plant 2 crore 10 lakh 31 thousand has been completed. Apart from this, in the integrated sanitation and hygiene project in 10 priority cities of Bangladesh, 6 water sources and 150 house hold connections and 23 lakh 79 thousand in 24 street hydrants, 5 community latrines worth Tk 1 crore 40 lakh are going on.
Meanwhile, Jamalpur Public Health Department Administrator Md Jahangir Kabir said that Tk 350 crore development works have been going on after Sultan Sir's accession. Some packages are 57% complete which have been instructed to complete. However, due to the tireless efforts of Md. Sultan Mahmud Sir, Executive Engineer of Jamalpur Directorate of Public Health, all development works have been implemented properly in Jamalpur. We Jamalpur people need Sultan Mahmud sir to implement more development tasks of Jamalpur district.
However, Jamalpur District Public Health Directorate Executive Engineer Md. Sultan Mahmud said that the works have not yet been completed and the bills have not been given yet. Bill will be paid after completion of work. Some more projects will come up. Any kind of irregularity will not be tolerated here.
