It has been reported that Jamalpur LGED Executive Engineer Ujjwal Tripura is implementing the work by himself, having obtained work in the name of Mir Habibul Alam and MS Laboni Enterprise as the contractor of the project titled Jamalpur PTI Fourth Primary Education Development Program (PEDP-4).
The said executive engineer has misused his power to invest money in the said project through forgery and fraud, deceiving the government and embezzling corrupt money himself.
No contractor has been found at the project site since the start of the work. When asked about the identity and absence of the contractor in this regard at his office yesterday, he said, "There is no need for any information other than whether there is a labourer or not."
He said, "I myself supervise the work, there is no need for a contractor." On the other hand, there have been allegations of using bricks, cement, rods and sand of lower quality than the specified standard in the building under construction at a cost of Tk 23 crore of Jamalpur PTI.
The executive engineer of Jamalpur LGED's executive engineering office, by abusing his power, has allowed the use of bricks, cement, rods and sand of lower quality than the specified standard mentioned in the tender.
The executive engineer of the said work has already left bricks, cement, rods and sand of lower quality than the specified standard for use in the building construction area.
The person in charge has allowed the said materials to be kept at the building construction site despite being of low quality. The said engineer is always absent while working. The executive engineer also did not monitor and inspect the quality of the materials of the said work.
As a result, he is deceiving the government in a fabricated manner and is benefiting himself financially. Under the influence of the executive engineer, the low-value work has been overvalued by tk 23 crore. The proportional rate is not being followed in the sand cement and khoya mixture. PTI Super said that no contractor was seen at the project site except the executive engineer.
