Standing by People Through Service is a Noble Initiative : SMP Commissioner

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner Rezaul Karim PPM-Seba stated that serving the helpless and poor in society is a noble deed. Those who come forward with a service mindset bring positive change to society. The initiative of Sylhet Society Mehman Khana, ‍‍`10 Taka Meal,‍‍` is truly commendable. Such activities spread the message of compassion and humanity in society. He further emphasized that the police are friends of the people. We are working for the service of the people. The police are tirelessly working to maintain peace, order, and law enforcement in society. However, a beautiful society cannot be built solely through law enforcement. We need social awareness and mutual empathy.

On Friday (February 28) afternoon, at the Registrar Field in the city, during the discussion meeting, prayer session, and meal distribution event for 500 homeless people on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the ‍‍`10 Taka Meal‍‍` project by Sylhet‍‍`s largest volunteer and humanitarian organization, Sylhet Society Mehman Khana, he made these remarks as the chief guest.

The event was presided over by the founder president of Sylhet Society, Mohammad Shahjahan Chowdhury, and jointly hosted by General Secretary Maulana Abdul Karim Shikder and Assistant General Secretary Mahfuz Ahmad Kabir. The keynote speaker, President of the Advisory Council of the organization and language movement veteran Principal Masud Khan, stated that the ‍‍`10 Taka Meal‍‍` project of Sylhet Society Mehman Khana is a great initiative. The leaders of the society are standing beside the homeless with their labor and money, which is praiseworthy. As a result of this initiative, helpless people can have a fulfilling meal.
