55 kg weed recovered in Burichong

The police recovered 55 kg of ganja in the Bakshimool union of Cumilla's Burichong upazila based on secret information.

Burichong Police Station said through a press release that based on secret information, the police came to know that drug dealers were staying inside Zainal Abedin's Kanth Bagan behind Kanchanpur Government Primary School in Bakshimul Union with weed last Thursday morning. On receiving this information, the police reached the spot. The drug dealers fled when they sensed the presence of the police. Burichong police station SI Rezaul Karim and ASI Nurul Alam recovered 55 kg of weed from the spot. Later filed a case under regular narcotics law.

Locals complain that smuggling of Indian sugar, cosmetics, and narcotics has increased in this area recently. Which is a threat to the youth. Political umbrella smugglers are becoming active. Because of this, fear and anxiety are increasing in the public mind. If law enforcement agencies do not act soon, the drug trade will take a terrible shape.

Abdul Karim, chairman of Bakshimul Union Parishad, said that to save the youth, people should be more aware along with the administration.
