Doctors, nurses and employees are on strike for an indefinite period in protest against the dishonor of doctors and nurses in Jamalpur's Bakshiganj Upazila Health Complex after the death of a patient while undergoing treatment. As a result, all hospital activities are closed. It is known that the rickshaw driver Jewel Mia alias Rajab Ali (40) of Seemarpar area of ​​Bakshiganj town fell ill on Monday evening when his family members admitted him to Bakshiganj Upazila Health Complex and died while undergoing treatment. The relatives of the deceased Rajab Ali claim that Rajab Ali died due to the negligence of the doctors.

Based on the incident, the patient's relatives attacked the doctors and nurses, and the resident medical officer Dr Asma Labani was physically assaulted along with the nurses.

The working doctors, nurses and employees of the hospital are on strike for an indefinite period from yesterday morning to protest against the dishonor of doctors and nurses in this incident and demand justice. Doctors, nurses and staff are on strike and all hospital activities are closed. As a result, all services including the emergency department of the hospital are being disrupted. Patients from faraway places are returning without getting medical care. In this regard, Bakshiganj Upazila Health and Welfare Officer Azizul Haque said that the doctors and nurses were assaulted due to the death of a patient under treatment. As a result, all activities except the emergency department are closed. Local conscious community demand proper justice from both ends and demand returning of the medical officers and services in the only government hospital providing health services to Bakshiganj upazila residents.
