When the protestors reached the Upazila Mor area, the police stopped them. Later, unable to reach the court premises in the face of police obstruction, the protestors protested at the upazila intersection from 1 pm to 1 am and went back.
Afsana Naushin, a student of Narsingdi Government College, said, we want compensation for the families of the students who have been killed across the country and justice for the murders. Nadira Yasmin, Assistant Professor of Bengali Department of Narsingdi Government College said, we wanted to have a peaceful movement with the students in the court premises. But I could not go to the court premises due to the obstruction of the police.
I tried to convince the police several times but failed. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narsingdi Model Police Station Tanvir Ahmed and other policemen were present at the spot during the students' protest. OC Tanvir Ahmed was called on his cell phone around 2.30 pm to ask the reason for stopping the movement, but he did not receive the call.
