Protests for removal of hospital employee

Employees of Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) formed a human chain and staged a protest rally demanding removal of three employees of the hospital.

The three employees are ward master Abul Kalam Azad, office assistant Ruhul Amin Likhon and Tariqul Islam Sohag. They are accused of roster trading, authoritarian activities and abuse of employees. Other employees of the hospital formed a human chain and protested demanding the removal of the three employees.

They held a program in front of the main gate of the hospital at 11 am yesterday. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the deputy director of the hospital recommending action against the three employees.

During human chain, the speakers said that Ward Master Abul Kalam Azad, Office Assistant Ruhul Amin Likhon and Tariqul Islam Sohag have been involved in various irregularities for a long time, so we demand immediate removal of these corruption, autocratic activities and employee repression. They also said that if their demands are not met within the next three days, they will go on work stoppage.

Shahadat Hossain Shanto, Kaiyum, Faisal, Aminul Islam, Jabbar Dhali, Anwar Hossain, Kamal and all the employees of the hospital were present in the chair.

Dr SM Moniruzzaman, acting director of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, said the hospital's employees submitted a memorandum against three employees accusing them of corruption, autocratic activities and torture of employees. Action will be taken after talking to the ministry about the matter.
