SAFF Women Champion Reception

The three golden girls of the hills who won the SAFF championship were given a reception in Rangamati in a colorful arrangement.

Yesterday, the three girls of the hills who won the Women's SAFF championship were given a reception at the Rangamati Chinghlamaung Mari Stadium, a joint initiative of the Rangamati District Administration and the District Sports Association.

In the morning, Rituparna, Rupna and Monika were taken from the Ghagra High School ground in Kaukhali to Mari Stadium in a decorated truck and motorcade. After that, through formal arrangements, these three talented footballers of the district were presented with a check of Tk one lakh each by the Rangamati District Administration, Rangamati Army Region, Rangamati District Council, Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board and District Sports Association and a check of Tk 50 thousand by the Rangamati Municipality.

Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan and others presented the check and crest of honor. Later, floral greetings and honors were presented by various political and social organizations of Rangamati and the general public of all walks of life in the district. In addition, FIFA referee and Rangamati talented Santanan Jaya Chakma was honored.

Bangladesh won the SAFF Championship for the second time in a row by defeating Nepal 2-1 in the final of the Women's SAFF Championship on October 31. Monica and Rituparna Chakma contributed greatly to this achievement by scoring two goals each in the final. In addition, Rituparna and Rupna Chakma, the best players in the entire tournament, won the honor of being the best goalkeepers. All three of them are girls from Rangamati and play football regularly for the national team.
