Shops and autorickshaws burnt to ashes

8 shops were gutted in a terrible fire in Baraichari of Kaptai upazila of Rangamati. Also, one CNG autorickshaw in front of the shop was completely burnt.

The fire incident took place around 3:45 in the morning yesterday. Kaptai Fire Service personnel came to the spot on receiving information and brought the fire under control at 6 am after almost two hours of effort.

Shahadat, the station officer of Kaptai Fire Service, said that we got the information at around 4 am and came to the spot and started extinguishing the fire. The fire was brought under control after two hours of efforts around 6 am. Besides, it is initially believed that the fire started from an electrical short circuit. In this incident, it was initially reported that the damage was more than 20 lakh rupees. However, he said that the amount of damage may increase.

Meanwhile, Kaptai Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Mohiuddin, Kaptai Police Station OC Masud Alam and local public representatives rushed to the spot after receiving the news of the fire. During the visit, they assured assistance to the victims.
