Police arrested a smuggler named Dwijen Dhar (39) with 10 gold bars in Feni. District Police Superintendent Habibur Rahman gave this information in a press conference at his office on Sunday afternoon.
In the press conference, the Superintendent of Police said, based on the secret information that a person from Chittagong had left for Dhaka with illegal gold, the policemen of Bogdadia Investigation Center under the jurisdiction of Feni Model Police Station were stationed in Khayara area of Dhaka-Chittagong highway. Later, when a Dhaka-bound Tisha Platinum Paribahan bus was searched, Dwijen Dhar was arrested on suspicion. When he admitted that he had gold bars during interrogation, the policemen informed me about it.
Later Feni Deputy Commissioner and the army were informed and he was searched on the spot in the presence of the Executive Magistrate. At this time, 10 gold bars placed in a special technique were seized from inside his shoes. After the arrest, the smuggler could not show any valid documents related to the seized gold bars.
