The adulterated liquor was made by mixing rectified spirit, water, paint and essence in a home of Faridpur. The District Narcotics Control Department has arrested three people, including the mastermind of such a gang with fake liquor making materials.
This information was given in a press release issued by the District Narcotics Control Department yesterday afternoon.
The arrestees were identified as Abul Hossain Abul (50), son of late Majid Jomaddar, Hafizul Islam Pachu (46), son of late Hossain Mallick of Bil Mahmudpur Purba Mallick Dangi area and Atiar Sheikh (36), son of Eman Ali Sekh of Sadardi area of Sadar upazila.
Among them, Abul Hossain is the mastermind of the gang and Hafizul Islam Panchu and Atiar Sheikh work as associates, according to the Department of Narcotics Control.
Earlier on Friday afternoon, they were arrested in a drive in Munshibazar bypass road and Sadardi area of Faridpur Sadar.
Shamim Hossain, deputy director of the Department of Narcotics Control, said a case was filed against the arrestees with Kotwali Police Station in Faridpur under relevant sections of the Narcotics Control Act.
