After a long 22 years, Rappid Action Battalion (RAB-7) has arrested top terrorist Azizul Haque, a fugitive accused in the Raujan case of Chattogram. He was arrested in front of Hotel Sonali in the Kotwali police station area of the city on Sunday.
The arrested Azizul Haque is the son of Abdul Monaf of Uttar Hingla village in the Dabua union of Raozan upazila.
RAB-7 said that Azizul Haque, a fugitive accused under a warrant of Raozan police station, was staying in front of Hotel Sonali of Kotwali police station in the city - based on such information, he was arrested by conducting a raid in that area.
Confirming the matter, RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain said that Azizul Haque had been hiding in various places in Chattogram district and city for 22 years to avoid arrest by law enforcement agencies. Information about 12 cases related to murder, weapons, kidnapping, theft, and robbery has been found against him at Raozan police station.
He said that during the initial interrogation, top terrorist Azizul Haque confessed that he was a fugitive accused under a warrant of a murder case. He has been handed over to Raozan police station for further legal action.
