Shaheed Abu Saad Hadudu (Kabadi) Tournament held at Saturia Upazila in Manikganj.
Saturia upazila Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) general secretary and former chairman of Saturia Union Parishad Md Abul Bashar Sarker inaugurated the match at Shaheed Abu Sayeed Field in Bailtala village of the upazila on Friday afternoon.
After a long time, a crowd of locals has been seen in the field to watch the traditional Hadudu game of rural Bengal. People of different ages enjoyed this game with the presence of thousands of spectators from different areas with huge enthusiasm.
Presided over by noted social worker Md Khorshed Ali, the match was played between Selim XI and Bakkar XI. Within the stipulated time, Selim XI defeated the 40-year-old team Bakkar XI to become the champion.
Md Abul Bashar Sarker said that this game encourages healthy entertainment. When people are involved in sports, they will grow up physically and mentally. That's why they stay away from drugs. If these lost games are resumed, the criminal activities of the society will decrease.
