A woman was killed by an unidentified vehicle while returning home on a motorcycle in Mirzapur, Tangail. As the husband was seriously injured in the incident, he was admitted to Kumudini Medical Hospital.
The incident took place in front of Mirzapur Cadet College on Dhaka-Tangail highway around 11 pm yesterday.
Deceased Shiuli Akhtar (45) is wife of Shariful Islam of Chandpur district and works as an assistant team leader of production department of Square Pharmaceutical Limited in Mirzapur. Injured husband Shariful is working in the engineering department of that company.
Deputy Inspector (SI) of Mirzapur Police Station Zahurul Islam said that at night they were going home from work on a motorcycle. Shiuli died on the spot in front of Mirzapur Cadet College. Her husband was seriously injured. He was rescued and admitted to the hospital.
