In Munshiganj of Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga, a young woman named Sheila Khatun (23) was hacked to death by unknown miscreants and left on the railway line. Locals informed the police after seeing his body on the railway line near Munshiganj railway station yesterday.
Deceased Shila Khatun is the wife of Rasel, a resident of Roakuli village of Jehala Union of Alamdanga Upazila and the only daughter of Hamidul Islam of Boliyarpur village of Nagdah Union. She has a 14 month old baby boy. Her husband Rasel has been absconding ever since the incident.
Munshiganj police outpost sub-inspector (SI) Subal Kumar said Sheela's brother said that there was a commotion at the in-laws' house during the night. Since then Sheila was not found. His body was found on the railway tracks in the morning. There were sharp weapon injuries on his body. It is believed that the body was left on the railway track after being hacked to death. Railway police reached the spot and started the process of recovering the body.
Chuadanga Railway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Masud Rana said the body has been sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
