The price of broiler chicken has increased in the market and is being sold at the rate of Tk 200 per kg. However, beans, green chillies and coriander leaves are being sold at twice the price. They are being sold at the rate of Tk 400 per kg. Apart from that, tomato is Tk260 per kg, eggplant is Tk180 per kg. Prices of almost all other vegetables have crossed the century mark. Common people are gasping at this height of the vegetable market. They say that the price of vegetables is excessive. Everything has a limit. But the vegetable market is breaking that limit.

This should not be allowed to continue. On yesterday, such a picture was seen when visiting the kitchen market of Mirpur -1 in the capital. The price of vegetables is increasing by leaps and bounds. Most of the vegetables are selling above Tk100 . Yesterday Senior Assistant Secretary Fuara Khatun came to monitor the market on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce at kitchen market of Mirpur-1. Shah Alam, the vegetable seller of the market, informed that the operation was carried out in egg, meat and grocery stores under her leadership, but the operation was not carried out in the vegetable market. When asked about the high price of vegetables, most of the sellers are giving an excuse of the floods in North Bengal.

Beans, green chillies and coriander leaves are being sold at the highest prices in kitchen market. Each is being sold at Tk 400 per kg. Besides, among other vegetables, Indian tomato Tk260 , local carrot Tk150, Chinese carrot Tk160 , brinjal Tk100 ,  eggplant Tk120 , black round eggplant (Talbegun) Tk180 , cucumber Tk80-100 , bitter gourd Tk80.

Sweet pumpkin is being sold at Tk 60 per kg. Apart from this, unripe bananas are sold at Tk 50 ,4 pcs, and lemons are sold at Tk 40-50,4 pcs.

In this case, it can be seen that the prices of almost all vegetables have exceeded the century mark. But not only the house of the century, the price of several vegetables has increased by leaps and bounds even after the century. Comparing with last week, it can be seen that the price of various vegetables has increased from Tk10  to Tk90.

The prices of Indian tomatoes and chillies have jumped by Tk 90 and Tk80 per kg respectively. Besides, the price of local carrot, papaya, chichinga has increased by Tk10  per kg. And recently, the price of unripe banana has increased by Tk10 r. Again, the price of  brinjal, rinds, patal, dhundal and barbati has increased by Tk20  per kg.

And prices of other vegetables remain unchanged at high levels. The seller said about this additional price of vegetables. Tanvir Alam said, in our country, vegetables are mainly grown in North Bengal. On the other hand, due to flood, the price of vegetables has increased in the market.

On the other hand, if there is a problem in vegetable cultivation, it naturally affects the market. That is still happening. I think that the price of vegetables will come down if the floods and rains decrease. Another seller said that a kg of beans is Tk 400. It's really too much. This price is not supposed to exist at this time. A few days ago we sold beans at Tk150-200 . But today it has increased so much that people cannot buy it.

Buyers are also angry at the excessive price of vegetables in the market. A person named Mahfuzur Rahman who came to the market said that the price of everything in the market is very high. Meanwhile, eggs were not seen in the egg shops in this market like other times. A few shops are also closed. Sellers say they are not bringing eggs as they are not getting them. The number of those who managed to bring is very less.

At that time, a buyer who came to the market expressed his anger and said that there are no eggs in the market. Has the chicken stopped laying eggs? not so So why no eggs? We are suffering. And about the increase in the price of chicken, the sellers say that the price of chicken feed is high. So the price of chicken is not decreasing.

In addition, according to the weight of Hilsa fish in kitchen market, Tk1800-2300 , Rui fish Tk350-500 , Katla fish Tk400-550 , Kaliboush Tk700 , Shrimp fish Tk900-1400 , Kanchki fish Tk400 Taka, Koi fish Tk200-300 , Pabda fish Tk 400-700, Horn fish Tk 500-1200, Tengra fish Tk 600, Bele fish Tk 800-1200, Boal fish Tk 800-1400, Kajli fish Tk 1200, Rupchanda fish Tk 800-1200 per kg. Fuara Khatun, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, spoke to the media after the market monitoring by the Ministry of Commerce to keep the price of essential products stable and control the market situation. He said that regular market monitoring is done by the Ministry of Commerce.

We are trying to monitor the market of other raw materials including eggs, chicken, onions. The challenges we see ahead in terms of eggs, we are checking egg prices in the market. But they are not able to show the receipt of egg purchase. Legal action has been taken against the shopkeepers who could not produce any receipts. And those who have been able to show a couple of receipts have been given instructions. He said, we have also fined two chicken shops. They did not keep price lists and could not show purchase receipts.

This official of the Ministry of Commerce also said that we show the prices of TCB products online. If you see there, it can be understood that since the last 7th, it has come to a tolerable level. Regular monitoring is done in the market. However, a special task force has been formed. It will be better if this task force is activated. Referring to the reduction in the price of chicken feed to reduce the price of eggs and chicken, Fuara Khatun said, it is said that the price of chicken or egg is increasing to increase the price of chicken food or feed. In that regard, how to reduce the cost of feed will be tried.

The government has taken initiative in this regard, which was proposed by the traders to reduce the price of feed. Note that the shopkeeper of Mirpur Chicken House was fined Tk 500 for not being able to show the purchase receipt during the market monitoring. And a fresh cut chicken service shopkeeper was fined Rs Tk1,000 for not having a price list and showing purchase receipts.
