The famous as the capital of flowers sold an estimated three crore worth of flowers in the last five days at Gadkhali, Jashore. This amount of sale is based on Intellectual Day and Victory Day. Abdur Rahim the president of Jashore Flower Production and Marketing Cooperative Societies confirmed last Saturday.
Abdul Rahim said that from December 11 to the morning of December 15, about Tk 3 crores worth of flowers have been sold. About 11 types of flowers came from the Gadkhali flower sector this year. He also said that the price of flowers was very good this year. Farmers are very pleased with the price of flowers. Farmers have started to cultivate flowers for Christmas, New Year, and World Love Day.
He is optimistic that will allow about Tk 100 crores of flowers to be sold this season.
The information from the agricultural department is that about 11 kinds of flowers are cultivated on 1.5 hectares of land in the Jashore region. 70 percent of the country's total flower demand comes from Gadkhali.
