25 lost phones handed over to owners

Cyber Crime Monitoring Cell of Rangamati District Police recovered 25 mobile phones from different parts of the country through the use of information technology.

Under the direction of Rangamati Superintendent of Police Mir Abu Touhid, Additional Superintendent of Police Shahnewaz Raju supervised the recovery operation.

Rangamati Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md Saiful Islam handed over the recovered mobile phones to the original owners on the premises of Kotwali Police Station yesterday afternoon.

In order to prevent cybercrime, the Cyber Crime Monitoring Cell of the District Police, formed with the sincere efforts of the Superintendent of Police was able to detect clueless cases as well as recover 374 lost mobile phones. The estimated market value of which is Tk 75 lakh.

At the mobile handover ceremony, the victims expressed satisfaction over their lost mobile phones and expressed gratitude to the Superintendent of Police and Rangamati District Police.

Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Ali and Cyber Crime Monitoring Cell Officer-in-Charge Masud Rana were present on the occasion.
